How much does a website cost in India?

6 min read

It's the first question every business asks, and the honest answer is 'it depends' — but it depends on a small number of things you can actually understand. Here's what really drives the cost of a website.

Template vs bespoke

The biggest fork in the road is whether you buy a template (or a page-builder theme) or commission a bespoke build. Templates are cheap up front and fine for the simplest needs — but they fight you the moment you want something specific, and they rarely convert as well because they're designed for everyone and no one.

A bespoke site costs more because real people design and build it around your goals. The payoff is a site you own, that loads fast, ranks, and is built to sell — not a theme you rent.

What actually drives the price

Scope is everything: a focused brochure site is a different project to an e-commerce store or custom software. Number of unique page types, custom functionality (search, dealer portals, payments), content volume, and integrations (CRM, payment, ads) are the real cost levers.

Performance and SEO done properly take engineering time too — but they're what make the site pay for itself, so they're rarely the place to cut.

How to brief for an accurate quote

Tell the studio what outcome you want (more enquiries? online sales? a dealer channel?), roughly how many page types you need, and any must-have features. The clearer the brief, the tighter the quote — and the less chance of surprises later.
